So many of us  “upgrade” from a point and shoot camera to a  ”PRO”  looking SLR camera with lots of buttons and a big lens in hope to take better photos…well it’s not going to happen unless you know what you’re doing !

DK Capture offers a 2 hour one to one studio photography lesson in how to take studio portraits.

The first thing we do is switch EVERYTHING to manual!  …….eeeek

We go through all the types of studio photography, Low Key, Mid Key and High Key.   We look at all the equipment in the studio and explain why we need umbrellas even if it’s not raining!

At the end of the 2 hours you will know enough about studio photography to be able to rent the studio in the future and go it alone ! 

Studio tuition starts at £65 for a two hour lesson providing your own model. 

We can provide a model at an additional cost.

Gift Vouchers can be provided if your thinking of giving a lesson as a gift.

We have moved !

We moved the studio in April to a new location right next door to Toys R Us in Poole.

The studio is a little larger than the old one and still has all the great areas to shoot in, including the extra large white area ideal for our all inclusive party shoots.

The new site is just over 1200sqft with over 10 different backgrounds and sets; we still have one the best studios in the area.

Kids + Paint = FUN

We launched our Messy Monday photoshoot early January we knew it would be popular but we didn’t expect such a good response as we have had !

For those who have not seen our portfolio its a very simple idea…we cover the studio in paper and let the kids go mad with pots of paint !

I know what you thinking  YOUR MAD…this maybe true but sometimes we have to suffer for our art !

The Messy Monday sittings are £30 and include a 7×5” print.  They are held Monday mornings 10 – 12.  Please call to book your 30min slot.

If you can’t make Mondays we can offer a weekend but with a minimum of four sittings…so why not make a party of it !

We spent the day shooting the finest produce available and was introduced to some amazing new fruits, vegetables and other ingredients.

When Wendy, a Nutritional Therapists from Inner Balance Health contacted us to create some modern images for her website DK Capture jumped at the chance to show our creative side.

We had to hire in models for body shots, visit fruit and veg shops and come up with modern images for her new site. The studio has never looked so healthy !

Wendy is currently featured in this months Zest magazine talking about how she became a Nutritionist.

Party People…!

Pre Party Shoots… great way to start the evening

We have been offering party photoshoots for many years now. 

At £20pp including all images to download ! its become very popular with the party groups before they go clubbing for the evening.

DK Capture have a very relaxed view on life so we don’t have opening times hence why you may find us shooting parties in the studio at 10pm on a Friday night !

Art From Recycled Materials

Chris Davies has spent many years gathering bits of ‘junk’, scrap and driftwood from the beach. Influenced by texture, form and feel, Chris draws his inspiration from the pieces he collects.

He creates collages and sculptures, mostly in abstract form. Recycling scrap metals and wood into a range of items ranging from the practical, planters for the garden, to free standing sculptures and wall hangings for the garden or garden room.
